Originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, Jerry attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he graduated in 1972 with a degree in Business. While at the University, Jerry earned All-America honors as quarterback for the Nebraska Cornhuskers while guiding them to consecutive National Championships in 1971 and 1972. Upon graduation, Jerry played in the National Football League for the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears—rounding out his career in the Canadian Football League.
Jerry has over 17 years experience in the financial services industry and was a founding partner in Tagge Rutherford Financial Group with Greg Rutherford and Allen Bailey.
Jerry focuses his practice on helping individuals with their investment portfolios, retirement and estate planning needs.
Originally from Grand Island, Nebraska, Allen graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1984.
Having over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Allen was co-founder of Tagge Rutherford with partners Jerry Tagge and Greg Rutherford. While his name never appeared on the building, Allen is well-known and a highly respected member of the wealth building industry.
In addition to serving clients, Allen manages Tagge Rutherford’s Client Relations department and is an active member of many community organizations.
Scott grew up in Laurel, NE and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Midland College in Fremont, NE.
With Majors in Education, History, Social Science and a Minor in Philosophy, Scott spent three years as a teacher and coach before entering the financial planning industry.
Scott has been in the wealth building industry for 18 years and joined Tagge Rutherford in 1998 as Partner and Managing Executive—positions he still maintains.
Throughout his career he has served on multiple local and national committees and specializes in assisting individual clients achieve their financial goals.
Monte practically grew up in our backyard. From Elkhorn, Nebraska, Monte graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1997 with a degree in Business Administration.
Starting his career with Tagge Rutherford in 1997, Monte has been dedicated to the financial planning business. He served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer before becoming a financial Advisor. In 2004 he become a Partner of the firm.
While most of Monte’s clients are local individuals and family-owned businesses he works with many business executives and professional people from a variety of fields.
Monte’s unusually high client satisfaction rate has made him an easy referral from friends and existing clients, customizing his service to everyone’s individual needs. Monte puts it best, “My primary responsibility is making sure my clients are realistic in their goals—which are established before our relationship starts.”
Currently, Monte resides in his hometown. His main joy in life is spending time with his twin daughters and his favorite activity is the summer trip with them to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri for some fun and adventure. This, ironically, is a characteristic he has shared with his clients—getting the most bang out of your buck.
Two foundations strike a passionate chord with Monte’s dedication to children: Council Bluffs Optimist Club and the TRY Sports Foundation of Omaha. Any remaining time is spent playing golf.
As busy as he is, Monte attributes being able to accomplish everything he does to his Executive Assistant, Holly Boardman. Holly has been with Tagge Rutherford since 2008 and is solely responsible for assisting Monte in the day-to-day activities of clients.

Another Nebraska native, Jason Smith joined Tagge Rutherford in 1996. Jason earned a degree in International Affairs from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with Minors in Business and Finance. He is also a CFA Level 2 Candidate.
Jason serves as President of Defined Contribution, as well as Retirement Plan Services leading a team responsible for more than 75 corporations with qualified and non-qualified plans containing assets of over $350 million.
Focusing on consultation and fiduciary compliance of retirement programs for various plan sponsors, Jason devotes considerable time to conducting educational seminars for retirement plan participants and is a strong believer that client education is a critical step of long-term investment decisions.
His retirement plan services include: managing fiduciary responsibilities, vendor comparison and cost analysis, committee investment policy statement monitoring; Best Practices development with legislative updates and investment due diligence and reporting.
After growing up in rural Oakland, Nebraska, Chad attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and graduated with a Marketing Degree in 1993.
Chad joined Tagge Rutherford in 1994 serving as Vice President of Marketing and Client Relations, as well as being a financial advisor. He became a partner of the firm in 2004.
As Chief Marketing Officer for Tagge Rutherford, Chad works with his team’s high net worth individual and corporate clientele.
Chad also serves on the Board of Directors with several area Charities handling multiple fundraising events.
When not working, Chad often ponders if the Huskers will ever reclaim their glory days and sneaks in several rounds of golf around his unsuspecting wife. When he’s not on the course he does love spending time with his wife, Tara, and their children—Mack, Cooper and Mae.
Starting his career in the financial planning industry 17 years ago with Tagge-Rutherford Financial Group, Adam has had the unique experience of functioning within various capacities of the business including client prospecting and operations, which ultimately provided the foundation for becoming a financial planner and full partner in the firm in which he started. What began as one client, Adam’s book has grown to over 300 clients, attributable to organic growth and most recently advisor succession planning over the last five years. He has been able to successfully cultivate and maintain relationships with his clients by providing value through various market cycles and now refers to his first client simply as his longest business relationship.
Adam is a Nebraska native and graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is connected to the community through various local charities and fraternal organizations and is a frequent guest speaker for Omaha Public Schools and Creighton University. He has a wife and two children and spends his free time playing an active role in their sporting events and practices.

Larry is a native of Denver, Colorado and veteran of the Financial Services Industry—starting his career in 1974. Graduating with a degree in Clinical Psychology from Colorado State University he joined Mutual of Omaha Companies, where, for 20 years, he ascended from Sales Management to Vice President and Director of Sales & Marketing for the Mutual of Omaha Fund Management Company.
That Mutual of Omaha affiliate company was sold to Pioneer Funds in 1993 and Larry transitioned to the private financial planning industry.
Becoming a full-partner in 2004, Larry now focuses his experience and knowledge on serving his clients with all aspects of their planning needs.
Areas of expertise include complete financial planning, investment advisory consulting, estate planning, retirement planning, business planning and 1031 consulting.
Larry’s experience has lead to working with a myriad of financial products. His first love is working one-on-one with clients to building long-term relationships with them and their families to create and preserve their wealth.He has been married to his wife, Barbara, since 1975.
